I am looking for information about the jewish families: KAHN (Kann, Kohn, Cohn, Kohanitten), MARCUS, NACHMANN in Kurland/Sweden/Germany/Polan/Denmark/England. Especially, I'm intersted in finding the parents of Jeanette Marcus, cf. nb. 2 below.

This is, so far, all I know:

1. Moses KAHN. Born probably about 1730-40 in "Schoden" or "Schöden" (presumably Skuodas i Lithuania/Kurland).  Emigrated from Kurland to Stockholm in 1780 which means that the Kahns belong to the oldest Swedish jewish families. Died probably about 1800, maybe in Kurland (not buried in Stockholm). The tombstone of his widow indicates that he considered himself of the Cohen-priest family  ("... widow after Moses Hakohen"). Married to: Sara Rebecca ?. Born 7 Jul 1741 in Kurland (Skuodas?). Died March 1834 in Stockholm. Surname unknown. The children were:

a) Gelle (Juliane) KAHN. Born 12 May 1763 in Schoden (Skuodas) in Kurland. Died 14 March 1833 (in Stockholm?). Married to Hirsh NACHMANN (merchant, 1764-1825). Descendants NACHMANSON (cf. Svensk Biografisk Lexikon), WEYLANDT ...

b) Samuel Moses KAHN. Born 3 June 1766 (or 1768)  in Schoden (Skuodas) in Kurland. Died 30 November 1828 in Stockholm? Got license to trade after his father in law Gumpert Hirsch. Married to Esther HIRSCH (1775-1813). Descendants: JACOBSSON, NACHMANN, LUBLIN ...?

c) Abraham Moses KAHN, see below

d) Jacob Moses KAHN. Factory owner. Born Circa 1770 in Schoden (Skuodas) in Kurland. Died 1835 (in Stockholm?). Married to Johanna MARCUS (1789-1856, likely a sister of Jeanette MARCUS, see below). Descendants: KAHN, ROOS ...

e) Aron Moses KAHN. Merchant, Born 1784 in Stockholm. Died 1858 (in Stockholm?). Married to his niece Theodora NACHMANN. Descendants: Kahn ...?.

2. Abraham Moses KAHN. Born May 1775 in Schoden (Skuodas) in Kurland. Died 16 Oct 1822 in Stockholm. Owner of a hosiery ("strumpfabrikör") in Stockholm. Married to: Jeanette MARCUS. Born 25 Mar 1793 in Danzig. Died 14 Jan 1822 in Stockholm. Parents unknown!!!, however "MARCUS" is probably used patronymically (daughter of Marcus). Three children:

a) Hirsch KAHN, died 1817 as a child.

b) Charles Albert Moses KANN, see below

c) Frederika KAHN, (1818-). Converted to Christianity, otherwise unknown.

d) Esther Emilie KAHN, (1823-), married (in Denmark?) to Theodor BERGGREN (detailes unknown). Had an "illegitimate" son Sten with the Royal Secretary Ragnar AGARDH. Otherwise unknown.

3. Charles Albert Moses KANN, in the register of the Jewish Comunity in Stockholm entered as "Moses Kahn" with the addition "vacated and called himself Charles Albert KANN". Stock-/shipbroker ("mægler") in Deal. Born 1 Aug 1813 in Stockholm. Died 21 Nov 1866 in Deal, England. Lived for several years in Germany, later England, France, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary and Italy. Went as the private secretary of a count Aertslaer to Egypt, Syria and Palestine. Returned to Sweden 1846 and moved to Copenhagen 1848 where he lived as a language teacher, head of a department and translator. Between 1855 and 1859 they emigrated to Deal in England where he lived as a stock-/shipbroker. After his death in 1866, his widow and children returned to Copenhagen. His three children were:
